Values and standards form the basis of our success

The Panalpina Group recognizes that its long-term success as a company depends on acting responsibly. Transparency, reliability, integrity and fairness are basic values to which Panalpina emphatically subscribes.

Panalpina's strengths include the cultural diversity of its employees and its deeply-rooted presence on the local markets. The Group runs operations in 90 countries, including many in which local customs and conventions can play a significant role, along with the specific expectations of the market players.

This is the backdrop against which a Group-wide Code of Conduct was drawn up in 2006, consolidating the existing guidelines into a single set of regulations. The behavioural rules set forth in the Code are binding on all employees and are intended to support them in their daily work – not only in a business environment, but also in their dealings with the public and state authorities. The Code also supports the Group in its efforts to disseminate its common values and corporate objectives.

All employees are called upon to live the Code and actively endorse its further development. In-house training courses, publications, compliance audits and disciplinary measures in cases where misconduct is established will ensure that the Code receives the attention it deserves.

However, the Code does more than just satisfy the wish of many employees for assistance in tackling the increasingly complex requirements they face in their day-to-day working environment. It also addresses the needs of our global clientele. Our customers must be able to rely on the fact that our services conform to varying legal requirements right across the globe as well as meeting ethical standards. By complying with our Code of Business Conduct we are helping them to live up to their own responsibilities.
